Setting up Headunit Reloaded Emulator

To get started with Headunit Reloaded Emulator, download it from the Play Store and grant the necessary permissions, including Bluetooth and location access. Within the app, you’ll encounter three mode options: Phone Mode (for utilizing the app on your current handset), Wi-Fi, and USB (for connecting to another device).

Select Phone Mode to enable Android Auto on your phone’s screen. Initially, the display may appear cramped, but rotating your device to landscape orientation optimizes the view. Touch inputs function just like they would on a standard Android Auto interface, allowing for easy app navigation and layout adjustments via side icons.

To exit the interface, return to the app instead of closing it entirely. On most Android devices, this can be achieved by swiping left-to-right from the screen’s edge. A menu will appear, offering options to exit the mode or even run it in a picture-in-picture format.

Both devices should ideally be connected to the same Wi-Fi network, such as your car’s built-in Wi-Fi. A direct Wi-Fi connection is also an option; simply select it under Wireless in Wi-Fi Launcher and under Settings > Connectivity in Headunit Reloaded Emulator. This setup allows one device to control Android Auto on the other without the need for physical connections.
