Another noteworthy feature is the enhanced scam detection powered by Gemini Nano. This tool aims to significantly reduce fraud by identifying and eliminating patterns commonly associated with scams during phone calls. If a suspicious call is detected, users will be alerted to the likelihood of a scam and advised on the appropriate action to take, such as ending the call.
Google’s initiative includes informative messages to users, such as reminders that banks will never request money transfers for security purposes, bolstering consumer protection against fraud.
Big TalkBack Boost
Google’s TalkBack feature, which assists visually impaired users by identifying images on their phones, is set to receive a substantial upgrade with the help of Gemini AI. The multimodal capabilities of Gemini will provide clearer and more detailed descriptions of images, which will be particularly beneficial for online shopping or when viewing photos shared by friends and family.
