LofyStealer Targets Minecraft Players via Node.js Loader and Browser Injection

Minecraft players are being targeted by a deceptive hacking tool called “Slinky,” which is actually an infostealer known as LofyStealer linked to the Brazilian cybercrime group LofyGang. The malware uses a Node.js-based loader and a C++ payload to extract sensitive browser data, disguising itself as a Minecraft hack. It primarily targets younger players who may unknowingly execute it. The malware operates through a two-stage architecture, with a 53.5 MB loader binary that injects a smaller 1.4 MB payload into browser processes, bypassing detection methods. It collects sensitive information such as cookies, passwords, and credit card details, compressing and encoding the data for exfiltration. The command-and-control (C2) infrastructure is hosted in Brazil, and the malware's design reflects advanced compilation techniques. The campaign is attributed to LofyGang, which has evolved into a more professional entity, posing severe risks to players who download cheats and cracked tools. Indicators of compromise include a specific C2 IP address and associated endpoints.

New Valorant update brings ranked to Skirmish, and introduces the Kuronami 2.0 collection for skin aficionados

Riot Games is launching Season 2026 Act 3 of Valorant, introducing a ranked queue for the Skirmish mode called Skirmish: Ascension. This mode features solo or duo matches with specific restrictions, allowing each agent to use only one ability. The agents and their abilities include Jett (Tailwind), Waylay (Refract), Chamber (Rendezvous), Cypher (Cyber Cage), Omen (Shrouded Step), Phoenix (Curve Ball), Yoru (Clone), Iso (Contingency), Sage (Barrier Orb), Raze (Blast Pack), Vyse (Arc Rose), KAY/O (Flash/Drive), Breach (Flashpoint), and Veto (Crosscut). Matches will consist of ten rounds with different weapon phases. Players need both a Riot and FTW account to participate, and rankings will be based on win-loss ratios and opponent skill levels. Titles will be awarded based on rank, with 'Skirmish Competitors' for Gold to Platinum, 'Skirmish Expert' for Diamond to Immortal, and 'Skirmish Radiant' for top players. Additionally, Kuronami 2.0 will launch with new skins for various weapons and a melee weapon that transforms between a kunai and katana, alongside a battlepass featuring the Keys to Elysium Vandal.

Postgres to Iceberg in 13 minutes: How Supermetal compares to Flink, Kafka Connect, and Spark

Aptoide Files Antitrust Lawsuit Against Google Over Android App Distribution

This fake Windows support website delivers password-stealing malware

A phishing campaign has been identified that uses a counterfeit Microsoft support website, microsoft-update[.]support, to trick users into downloading a malicious Windows update disguised as WindowsUpdate 1.0.0.msi. This file, created on April 4, 2026, appears legitimate but contains malware designed to steal sensitive information. The campaign targets French-speaking users, leveraging recent data breaches in France to create convincing scams. The malware, once executed, installs an Electron application that runs a Python interpreter, which then deploys various data theft tools. It employs two persistence mechanisms: modifying the Windows registry and creating a shortcut in the Startup folder. The malware connects to external sites for reconnaissance and data exfiltration, using domains like datawebsync-lvmv.onrender[.]com and store8.gofile[.]io. The malware's components have evaded detection by antivirus tools, with VirusTotal reporting zero detections for the main executable and its launcher. Users are advised to check their registry, remove suspicious files, change passwords, and run a full system scan if they suspect installation of the malicious update. Safe updating practices include using the built-in Windows update feature and being cautious of phishing attempts. Indicators of compromise include specific file hashes, domains associated with the phishing campaign, and file system artifacts related to the malware's installation.

Samsung to End Messaging App, Switch Users to Google

Samsung will discontinue its Samsung Messages app in July 2026, urging users to switch to Google Messages. ResokerRAT Hijacks Telegram API to Command Infected Windows PCs

A newly discovered Windows malware called ResokerRAT uses Telegram’s Bot API for its command-and-control operations, allowing it to monitor and manipulate infected systems without a conventional server. It obscures its communications by integrating with legitimate Telegram traffic, complicating detection. Upon execution, it creates a mutex to ensure only one instance runs and checks for debuggers to avoid analysis. It attempts to relaunch with elevated privileges and logs failures to its operator. ResokerRAT terminates known monitoring tools and installs a global keyboard hook to obstruct defensive key combinations. It operates through text-based commands sent via Telegram, allowing it to check processes, take screenshots, and modify system settings to evade detection. Persistence is achieved by adding itself to startup and altering UAC settings. The malware retrieves additional payloads from specified URLs and uses URL-encoded data for communication. Researchers have confirmed its Telegram traffic, and its behavior aligns with various MITRE ATT&CK techniques. Security teams are advised to monitor for unusual Telegram traffic and scrutinize registry keys related to startup and UAC.
