AMD Addresses Installation Issues with Latest Driver Update
Earlier this week, AMD unveiled a significant update to its graphics driver, version 26.6.2, which introduced support for AMD FSR 4.1 to the previous-generation Radeon RX 7000 series. This enhancement allows users to take advantage of advanced upscaling technology that was previously exclusive to the latest GPUs. However, the rollout was not without its challenges, as users reported encountering installation difficulties on systems running Windows 10.
In response to the feedback, AMD promptly acknowledged the issue and has since released a hotfix, version 26.6.3, aimed at resolving the installation problems. This update is now available for download from AMD’s official website.
- Fixed Issues: The hotfix addresses intermittent installation issues experienced when installing AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 26.6.2 on Windows® 10 systems for Radeon™ RX 7000 series and above graphics products.
AMD communicated the update through its official X account, expressing regret for the inconvenience caused to Windows 10 users. The company assured users that a WHQL driver update containing the necessary fixes will be released next week. In the meantime, users have the option to apply the hotfix or revert to the previous driver using the official AMD Cleanup Utility.
