At Neowin, our passion for utilities and tools that enhance the Windows 11 experience is unwavering. The operating system, while robust, often conceals a myriad of features that require a bit of digging—sometimes even necessitating registry tweaks or other unconventional methods. Although Microsoft has made strides in improving accessibility to certain mouse options within the Settings app, the journey towards a fully user-friendly interface remains ongoing. This is where third-party applications come into play, providing invaluable assistance.
Introducing WinScript
In our recent roundup of the “Top 10 apps for Windows 11 users in 2025,” we highlighted WinToys, a commendable tool for system maintenance. Now, we are excited to introduce another contender: WinScript.
WinScript is an open-source application designed to streamline the execution of various scripts and adjustments that are not readily accessible through the native graphical user interface. This versatile app categorizes its features into several sections, including Tools, Debloat, Privacy, Telemetry, Gaming, and Performance, among others. A standout feature of WinScript is the “View Script” tab, which allows users to preview the actions the app is set to perform, ensuring transparency and control.
For those enthusiastic about optimizing their Windows 11 experience, WinScript proves particularly beneficial for debloating the system. Users can effortlessly remove elements such as widgets, preinstalled third-party applications, Copilot, Edge, OneDrive, and the Microsoft Store—features that some users may deem superfluous. Additionally, the app offers options to disable telemetry and data collection, restore the classic context menu, and much more.
Another noteworthy aspect of WinScript is its integration with the Chocolatey package manager, enabling users to swiftly install a variety of useful applications, drivers, media tools, and other utilities. Simply select the desired items, navigate to the View Script tab, and click Run to initiate the installation process.
WinScript is readily available for download from its GitHub repository, offering both an installer and a portable version to suit different user preferences.
