The Galaxy Book 4 Edge marks a significant milestone as Samsung’s inaugural Copilot+ PC. Following its introduction last year, the tech giant expanded its offerings with the Galaxy Book 5 series, which proudly carries the Copilot+ PC certification across all models. A recent Windows 11 update from Microsoft is set to enhance these devices with an array of innovative AI features.
New AI Features Unveiled
Microsoft’s latest update introduces several cutting-edge AI functionalities tailored for Copilot+ PC-certified devices. Among these, Copilot Vision stands out, capable of scanning the entire screen through the Copilot app. This feature employs AI to analyze on-screen content, enabling users to pose questions about various applications and web pages displayed.
For instance, users can inquire about how to enhance photo lighting directly on their Galaxy Book 4 Edge or any device from the Galaxy Book 5 series.
Additionally, the update enhances the ‘Click to Do’ feature, currently in its preview phase. This tool assists users in executing tasks based on selected text. By selecting text and holding down the Windows key while clicking, users can summarize it or perform a variety of actions, including:
- Scheduling meetings via Microsoft Teams.
- Practicing reading fluency and pronunciation with the Reading Coach tool.
- Drafting documents in Microsoft Word using Copilot.
- Utilizing Immersive Reader for a distraction-free view of selected text, complete with audio playback, background options, grammar assistance, and font customization.
Other exciting features include an AI-driven sticker generator and an object selection tool within the Paint app. These functionalities, which were previously in testing, are now being rolled out to a broader range of devices over the next month.
Enhanced User Experience
On the Galaxy Book 4 Edge, Samsung’s sole Snapdragon-powered Copilot+ PC, users will find an AI-powered agent integrated into the Settings app. This feature allows for natural language searches, enabling users to query specific settings effortlessly. For example, a user might type “how to connect to a Bluetooth device” or “I want to see larger text,” and the laptop will navigate to the relevant settings page.
Moreover, Snapdragon-powered Galaxy Books will benefit from an AI lighting option in the Photos app and a feature designed to capture flawless screenshots via the Snipping Tool.
Even non-Copilot+ PC Galaxy Books will receive some of these enhancements, including a convenient color picker within the Snipping Tool and a tool aimed at automatically resolving issues that lead to unexpected reboots. Many of these features are already accessible through the Microsoft Store and preview updates from the Settings app.
