Microsoft has unveiled a new non-security update, KB5067112, for Windows 11, version 23H2, elevating systems to Build 22621.6133. Users can initiate the update process by navigating to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update, or they may opt to download the KB5067112 update directly from the Microsoft Update Catalog.
Enhancements and Fixes
This update addresses a variety of user-reported issues, most notably improving the functionality of the touch keyboard. Users will find that key presses are now accurately registered after the device wakes from sleep, effectively resolving the frustrating problem where characters failed to appear despite the keyboard’s animations. This enhancement ensures a more seamless experience when entering passwords on the sign-in screen.
In addition to keyboard improvements, Microsoft has implemented significant networking enhancements that impact external virtual switches. Previously, network interface card (NIC) bindings could be lost following a host restart, inadvertently converting switches to internal mode and leading to connectivity disruptions. The KB5067112 update rectifies this issue by refining the detection process for orphaned virtual switch objects during the startup of the Host Network Service.
Furthermore, the update introduces a new feature dubbed Personalized Offers, which becomes available during the device setup in the Out-of-Box Experience (OOBE). This feature remains accessible within the Settings menu once users are fully operational within the system.
Lastly, Microsoft has resolved a critical issue affecting disk communication, which previously led to connectivity errors during upgrades of Azure Stack Hub or Azure Local clusters. This fix aims to enhance the overall reliability and performance of these cloud services.
