Microsoft has unveiled a revamped home screen for its Xbox PC app, designed to enhance user experience by making it simpler to discover new releases, sales, and events. This update also marks the addition of 400 previously unavailable titles to the Xbox store, a strategic move that aligns with Microsoft’s ongoing efforts to expand Xbox Game Pass while simultaneously increasing visibility for games that are not part of its subscription service.
New Titles and Collaborations
In collaboration with various partners, Microsoft has successfully integrated PC games featuring Xbox functionalities into the official Xbox app. Among the newly added titles are notable games from esteemed Japanese developers such as Kemco and Kairosoft, known for classics like Top Gear Rally and the more recent Game Dev Story. The lineup also includes popular titles like Shovel Knight Treasure Trove from Yacht Club Games and the entertaining Jackbox Party Pack.
Streaming Enhancements for Game Pass Subscribers
In conjunction with these updates, Microsoft has rolled out enhancements for Xbox Game Pass subscribers keen on streaming their gaming experiences. Last month, the company announced that Game Pass Ultimate subscribers could remotely play select games from the subscription catalog. Now, members of the Xbox Insiders community can also stream their personally owned games to their Xbox Series X and Xbox One consoles.
For those who are Game Pass Ultimate subscribers and part of the Xbox Insiders program in the 28 countries currently supported by the Xbox Cloud Gaming beta, the opportunity to stream their own games is now available. The selection includes a mix of blockbuster titles such as Star Wars Outlaws, The Witcher 3, Space Marine 2, and Baldur’s Gate 3, alongside indie gems like Animal Well, Dredge, and Kena: Bridge of Spirits. A complete list of supported games can be accessed through the company’s blog.
For Xbox Insiders in the Alpha Skip-Ahead and Alpha rings, the chance to preview this streaming feature is available starting today. Microsoft has indicated that broader streaming capabilities on Xbox consoles are expected to roll out in 2025, promising an exciting future for gamers.
