Exciting New Switch Emulator “Eden” Set to Launch Tomorrow
The highly anticipated Nintendo Switch 2 is on the horizon, but the world of Switch emulation is already buzzing with activity. Tomorrow, a new player in the game, Eden, will be making its debut in pre-alpha, promising a fresh take on playing Switch games on Android.
Eden is not just another Yuzu fork, as it comes with a revamped user interface and a host of new features that set it apart from the competition. Early previews show impressive performance, with games like Breath of the Wild running at 100fps on PC and improved performance on Android for titles like Mario Kart 8.
The team behind Eden has a strong pedigree, with roots in Citron, one of the most active Yuzu forks. However, internal disagreements led to a split within the Citron team, prompting the creation of Eden. Despite its pre-alpha status, the developers are eager to share their work with the community to prevent misinformation and copycats.
Lead developer Camille LaVey has been transparent about the challenges faced during development, citing external pressures and toxic online behavior as driving factors behind the early release. The team is also looking to collaborate with other prominent developers in the emulation scene to ensure a unified and cohesive approach to future development.
