Roblox Expands Educational Horizons with Learning Hub
Roblox, the popular user-generated content platform, has taken a significant step into the realm of education with the launch of its Learning Hub. This innovative service is designed to cover a diverse array of subjects, including mathematics, English, and computer science, with plans to expand its offerings in the future.
In an exciting collaboration, Roblox has partnered with the BBC’s Bitesize education division to introduce a geography-centric experience known as Planet Planners. This initiative aims to provide students with engaging and interactive learning opportunities during their summer break.
Rebecca Kantar, Roblox’s head of education, shared her enthusiasm for the new platform, stating, “Our new Learning Hub becomes available just as many students around the world are out of school for summer break. Whether students are looking to try building a game for the first time or to practice skills they’ll need again for the fall, our Learning Hub serves as a convenient front door. We aim to give more and more Roblox users globally access to subject- and grade-level-appropriate content that will ignite their genuine interest in learning.”
Oonagh Jaquest, executive producer at BBC Bitesize, echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the importance of engaging educational experiences. “BBC Bitesize is committed to offering world-class educational experiences to all learners, and game-based learning is a great way for students to engage with complex subject content while developing skills like critical thinking and problem-solving. The Roblox team has worked collaboratively with us to develop a really rich experience, which lets young people explore diverse locations around the world, see their decisions play out tangibly in the environment, and even play as class groups,” she remarked.
In addition to the Learning Hub, Roblox has also recently introduced a new Licensing Hub, further expanding its offerings and commitment to creating enriching experiences for its users.
