Nvidia has officially rolled out its DLSS 4 technology, now accessible in over 175 PC games and applications. This cutting-edge, AI-driven frame enhancement tool is set to debut with anticipated titles such as Borderlands 4 and Resident Evil Requiem, the latter of which will also feature path tracing capabilities. Matt Wuebbling, Nvidia’s vice president of global GeForce marketing, emphasized the significance of this advancement, stating, “DLSS 4 and path tracing are no longer cutting-edge graphical experiments — they’re the foundation of modern PC gaming titles.” He highlighted the growing trend among developers to harness AI-powered rendering, which unlocks breathtaking visuals and substantial performance improvements. DLSS 4 employs artificial intelligence to generate up to three frames for each traditionally rendered frame, resulting in performance enhancements that can reach up to eight times that of standard rendering. In addition to Multi Frame Generation, titles utilizing DLSS 4 will also incorporate DLSS Super Resolution, Ray Reconstruction, and Nvidia Reflex technologies, all designed to deliver improved performance and more responsive gameplay for users of the RTX 50-series.
Upcoming titles like Indiana Jones and the Great Circle will introduce support for RTX Hair technology, enhancing the realism of character hair. Many of these games, including Borderlands 4, Cinder City, and The Outer Worlds 2, will also be available on the GeForce Now cloud gaming platform, which now boasts performance capabilities akin to RTX 5080-class hardware and reduced latency.
