In a remarkable display of anticipation, pre-orders for the highly awaited Battlefield 6 have surged, making it the second highest-grossing game on Steam last week. This notable rise can be attributed to its recent spotlight during PlayStation’s latest State of Play broadcast, propelling the shooter up five positions compared to the previous week. The game is scheduled for release on October 7th.
Steam’s Competitive Landscape
Joining the ranks of top contenders, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 also made a significant leap, landing in ninth place after climbing 45 spots, thanks to the excitement generated by its open beta. Meanwhile, Counter-Strike 2 continues to dominate as the number one game on Steam, showcasing its enduring popularity.
Valve’s Steam Deck hardware maintains a strong presence, securing the third position, while the RPG Digimon Story Time Stranger debuted impressively in fourth place following its launch on October 2nd. The title has already achieved a peak of 69,460 concurrent users, highlighting its immediate appeal.
In the midst of these developments, EA Sports FC 26 experienced a slight decline, dropping three spots to fifth. Conversely, the indie sensation Megabonk climbed four places to sixth, fueled by enthusiastic coverage from streamers and growing hype. Cyberpunk 2077 also saw a resurgence, rising six spots to the sixth position, largely due to its feature in the Steam Autumn Sale.
In a notable shift, Dota 2 slipped three places to eighth, while Sons of the Forest from Endnight Games made a staggering ascent, rising 62 spots week-on-week to round out the top ten.
