Where to find Ida Rutledge and get past the elevator
Ida Rutledge presents a more straightforward path back to the bridge, albeit with a few hurdles. Head to Sovereign’s Sweet Spire Grove in the southwest region of Eden, where you will encounter a broken elevator leading up a cliff. To repair it, your Engineering skill must be at least three. If you possess this skill, fix the elevator and ascend. If not, alternative routes are available. By climbing the boxes adjacent to the elevator, you can scale the cliff to the left. Once atop, proceed to the tall structure, where you may witness an unfortunate event unfold before your eyes.
Upon arrival, you’ll meet some workers trapped in a tower who will inform you of Ida’s demise before assigning you a new side quest. Collect her severed arm from the machinery nearby and prepare to return to Warden Weintraut at the bridge.
Where to find Charlton Weintraut
Convincing Charlton Weintraut to accompany you to the bridge is a more challenging endeavor, primarily because he is very much alive. This task can be undertaken alongside the ‘The Brain Benders of Auntie’s Choice’ side quest, which will aid your access to the Vox Relay. Start by locating Charlton in Westport, positioned to the left of the main building. He will express his commitment to Westport and reluctance to leave. To sway him, you must search his home, situated towards the coast at the town’s rear. Exercise caution, as hostile Crabble inhabit the area.
Inside his house, you’ll discover evidence of his allegiance to Auntie’s Choice, specifically a file titled ‘Hidden Ambitions,’ along with a stash of his beloved blueberry treats. Don’t forget to grab the Shaina Grade Tossball Card on the desk for a permanent health boost. Upon returning to Charlton, he will share his thoughts on Westport’s governance and agree to leave, contingent upon Vigilant Hogarth’s approval. This is where completing ‘The Brain Benders of Auntie’s Choice’ side quest becomes essential.
How to persuade Charlton Weintraut to go to the bridge
Once you’ve completed the necessary side quest, both Hogarth and Charlton will relocate to Fairfield. With both individuals either accompanying you or en route to the bridge, you can make your way back. Speak to the guard upon arrival to complete the quest, granting you full access to the Bridge, although this does not extend to the Vox Relay just yet.
