After Bloodlines 2 I was going to return to VTM’s underrated battle royale game, but there’s bad news

There are certain games that leave an indelible mark on our memories, transporting us to vibrant worlds filled with adventure and camaraderie. Among these is Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodhunt, a title that captivated players with its unique blend of storytelling and gameplay. Set against the hauntingly beautiful backdrop of Prague, players navigated the blood-red skies, explored the intricacies of the Burning Church, and danced to the pulsating rhythms of the Divine Disco. In a sea of battle royale games, Bloodhunt carved out a niche that felt refreshingly different.

Server Shutdown Announcement

However, the winds of change have swept through the streets of Prague. In May 2023, Sharkmob announced the conclusion of active development for Bloodhunt, signaling a gradual decline in player engagement. By September, the game had effectively reached a standstill, with the servers still operational but the vibrant energy of the game fading. Recently, Sharkmob confirmed that the servers will permanently close on April 28, 2026, marking the end of an era for this beloved title.

In a heartfelt message, Sharkmob expressed gratitude to the community, stating, “When we first opened the streets of Prague to you, we could only hope that the nights you spent there would create the memories they did. From the battles fought on the rooftops to the friendships made in the chaos, Bloodhunt has lived through you in countless unforgettable ways.” Unfortunately, the current player population has dwindled to a level that no longer supports the sustainability of the servers.

Effective immediately, players will no longer be able to purchase Tokens, the in-game currency, although the store will remain open for spending any remaining balance. As a fan of the game, the news of its impending closure is disheartening. Despite the anticipated nature of the announcement—given the game’s daily player count of only 400 to 600—it evokes a sense of nostalgia for the thrilling moments spent as a Prowler Nosferatu or a Toreador Muse, enhancing the experience for friends and allies alike.

Despite its impeccable fashion and innovative gameplay, Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodhunt’s servers will close on Tuesday, April 28, 2026. Following this date, the game will no longer be available for play or purchase on PC and PlayStation platforms. For those seeking new adventures, there are numerous multiplayer games to explore, and for fans of the World of Darkness, a review of Bloodlines 2 may provide insight into whether this latest chapter is worth diving into.

As the community reflects on their experiences, the memories created within Bloodhunt will undoubtedly linger. Whether it was the thrill of a well-placed sniper shot or the joy of shared victories, the game has woven itself into the fabric of many players’ lives. Did you ever play Bloodhunt? Share your experiences on Discord. In a fun twist, it was the first game my partner and I truly enjoyed together, and despite my less-than-stellar gunplay, our bond has only grown stronger—perhaps I truly am a Toreador in real life.
