Samsung Brings Agentic AI to Windows with New Browser Launch

Samsung Electronics has officially launched the Samsung Browser for Windows, a significant step in extending its acclaimed mobile browsing experience to desktop users. This new offering promises seamless cross-device continuity and introduces innovative AI capabilities aimed at enhancing user interaction with the web.

Browse Seamlessly From Mobile to PC

The Samsung Browser for Windows effectively bridges the divide between mobile and PC, enabling users to transition effortlessly between devices. This functionality goes beyond merely synchronizing bookmarks and browsing history; it allows users to continue their exploration right where they left off. For example, a user can start reading an article on their mobile device and then pick up on the same webpage on their PC, creating a fluid browsing experience.

Additionally, with the integration of Samsung Pass, users can securely manage personal information, simplifying the process of signing into websites and autofilling profiles.

A New Way to Experience the Web With Agentic AI

Samsung is also introducing an AI-powered assistant within the Samsung Browser, developed in collaboration with Perplexity. This agentic AI is designed to enhance the browsing experience by understanding natural language and the context of the current webpage, as well as user activity across tabs. This intelligence facilitates content exploration and task management without requiring users to navigate away from the browser.

  • Intelligent Content Understanding and Comprehensive Response: The browser can analyze the context of the webpage, allowing users to request tailored solutions. For example, while planning a trip to Seoul, users can ask the browser to generate a four-day itinerary based on the content they are viewing.
  • A Faster, Smarter Way to Search: With advanced natural language processing, users can quickly access relevant information without the hassle of sifting through numerous webpages. The browser also extends this capability to video content, enabling users to locate specific moments within videos and start playback from that point.
  • Retrieving the Right Page From Browsing History: Users can search their browsing history using natural language, making it easier to find previously viewed items, such as a smartwatch they were considering last week.
  • Multi-tab Context Awareness: The browser simplifies the process of comparing information across multiple tabs by summarizing and presenting key insights in a single view.

Availability

The Samsung Browser for Windows is compatible with devices running Windows 11 and Windows 10 (version 1809 and above). Currently, the agentic AI features are supported in South Korea and the United States, with plans for expansion to additional markets in the future.

To utilize these features, users will need the latest version of the Samsung Account and must have the Samsung Continuity Service or Galaxy Connect app installed on their PC. Initially available on the Galaxy Book3, 4, 5, and 6 series, Samsung plans to extend compatibility to more devices in the future.

It is important to note that the functions and features of Samsung Pass may vary by country due to differing regulatory environments. The Autofill function supports sign-in information and personal details, but availability may differ based on region and language. Users should also be aware that the accuracy of search results is not guaranteed, and agentic AI features require a network connection and Samsung Account login, available in Samsung Browser version 29.0.4 and above.
