Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass prices drop in the UK

Earlier this week, Microsoft made headlines by announcing a reversal of last year’s price increase for its Game Pass subscription services. This decision reflects the company’s commitment to providing value to its gaming community, particularly in the UK, where the new pricing structure has now been confirmed.

Price Adjustments in the UK

In the United States, Game Pass Ultimate will see a reduction from per month to per month. Translating this adjustment to the UK market, subscribers will now pay £16.99 per month for Game Pass Ultimate. This brings the service back to its previous pricing tier, reminiscent of last year’s rates.

For those who prefer gaming on PC, the PC Game Pass remains the only non-Ultimate version that continues to offer day-one access to first-party titles, including anticipated releases like Fable, Forza Horizon 6, and Halo Campaign Evolved. Under the new pricing, PC Game Pass will be available for £10.99 per month, aligning with the previous year’s costs.

However, to maintain these favorable prices in the future, Microsoft has made a strategic decision regarding the release of Call of Duty. The popular franchise will no longer be available on Game Pass on its launch day; instead, subscribers will have to wait a full year to access the title. This move aligns with reports indicating a decline in Call of Duty sales this year, suggesting a shift in strategy to bolster the service’s sustainability.

As the landscape of gaming subscriptions evolves, the recent price reductions may prompt many to reconsider their subscriptions, especially with a promising lineup of titles on the horizon.
