In a remarkable update, the 26.2 Snapshot 5 has made its grand entrance, bringing with it an array of exciting features that are sure to captivate the community. Among the highlights is the introduction of erupting Geysers and a new explosive archetype for the Sulfur Cube, enhancing the mining experience for players everywhere.
New Features
- New Sulfur Cube archetype: Explosive
- Potent Sulfur can now form Geysers
Sulfur Cube mob
- With a block inside, it is now immune to explosions
Sulfur Cube archetypes
- A third special archetype has been introduced:
- Explosive: Shares similar properties with the Regular archetype but features slightly higher air drag.
- This archetype is utilized when absorbing a TNT block.
- Absorbed TNT can be primed by Redstone, fire sources (including a Dispenser with a Flint and Steel), or nearby explosions.
- When primed by fire or Redstone, the absorbed TNT utilizes a fuse time of 6 seconds.
- When primed by an explosion, the fuse time is randomized between 0.75 and 3 seconds.
- Sulfur Cubes with an absorbed, primed TNT block cannot be picked up with a Bucket.
- They also cannot be damaged, and absorbed, primed TNT blocks cannot be sheared out.
- Upon explosion, no Small Sulfur Cubes will be spawned.
Potent Sulfur
- When placed above a Magma block and under 1-4 Water source blocks, Potent Sulfur creates a Geyser.
- This Geyser erupts at random intervals, sending a plume of water particles skyward and applying an upward impulse to entities above it.
Changes
- Various adjustments have been made to mobs’ hitboxes, eye heights, and rider positions.
Mob Spawning
- Hoglins are now classified as hostile and will not spawn on Peaceful difficulty.
Sounds
- New sounds have been added for Geyser eruptions.
- Sulfur Spikes now feature unique sound events.
Settings
- Touchscreen Mode has been removed due to long-standing issues with its implementation and support.
Developer’s Note: Touch screen mode has been poorly implemented and not properly supported for a long time. We plan to deprecate this feature in this release. To provide your feedback on this topic, head over to the feedback site.
