CI Games has officially entered into a separation agreement with Epic Games Publishing, marking a significant shift in the distribution strategy for Lords of the Fallen II. This development allows the highly anticipated title to be available across various PC storefronts, moving away from its initial exclusivity with the Epic Games Store.
Self-Publishing and Distribution
In this new arrangement, CI Games will take on the responsibility of self-publishing the game across all platforms. Meanwhile, PLAION will maintain its role in managing physical distribution on a global scale. This dual approach aims to maximize the game’s reach and accessibility for players worldwide.
Despite the change in publishing strategy, Lords of the Fallen II will continue to leverage Epic’s advanced technologies. The game will utilize Unreal Engine 5 and Epic Online Services, which will enhance the gaming experience with features such as cross-platform multiplayer, matchmaking, friends lists, and shared-progression co-op functionalities.
Marek Tymiński, CEO of CI Games, expressed his appreciation for Epic’s support throughout the development process. He stated:
“Epic was there for CI Games exactly when we needed them most. Their support and belief in the project made a real difference, and for that we are truly grateful. Epic has been an outstanding supporter of Lords of the Fallen II. With Unreal Engine, EOS, and the rest of Epic’s world-class technologies, we’re going to ship a performant game in a massive world that players can explore together across PC and console.”
Lords of the Fallen II is set to launch later this year for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, promising an expansive and immersive experience for gamers.
