Finding specific information within the Google Keep app is becoming significantly more user-friendly. In 2025, Google initiated the development of a feature known as “Find in note,” but it was subsequently removed from the app. Recently, however, this functionality made a reappearance, and Android Authority successfully activated it during an APK teardown. Now, it appears that Google is poised to officially roll out this tool.
Feature Overview
The “Find in note” feature is designed to enhance the search experience within individual notes. Users can access this feature by navigating to the three-dot menu within a note. Once opened, a search box allows users to input their queries, highlighting all instances of the search term within the note. This functionality stands in contrast to Keep’s existing search option, which retrieves all notes containing the specified terms.
Currently, the “Find in note” feature is available in the Keep app, although its rollout may not be universal just yet. Contributors from AssembleDebug and several writers have noted its presence in app version 5.26.301.00.90. However, some users, despite having the correct app version, have reported that the feature is still absent on their devices, even after force-stopping the app and clearing the cache. For those still awaiting access, it is anticipated that the feature will become available in due course.
In addition to the “Find in note” feature, Google is also working on a revamped user interface for the toolbar located at the bottom of notes. This update will involve rearranging some buttons and introducing a fresh design for the plus icon, promising to enhance the overall user experience.
