PlayStation 3 Emulator on Android Gets Network Play Support and Other Improvements

ARMSX3 Emulator Continues to Improve with Version 0.9.4 Update

The team behind the mobile port of RPCS3, ARMSX3, has been hard at work refining the emulator and expanding its list of compatible games. The latest update, version 0.9.4, brings some exciting new features to the table.

One of the main highlights of this update is the introduction of network play via RPCN, an open alternative to PlayStation Network. Users can now create RPCN accounts directly within the app, save multiple servers, and easily switch between them. Additionally, address forwarding settings have been added to facilitate connections to community-restored game servers.

Other notable changes in version 0.9.4 include the ability to import saves through the ARMSX3 interface, USB keyboard emulation, and access to virtual PS3 system settings. Users now have the option to customize the console’s language, region, date format, and confirmation button. The developers have also made improvements to vibration and the L2 and R2 triggers for a smoother gaming experience.

Game compatibility has also seen some enhancements with this update. Titles like Borderlands 2, Bleach: Soul Resurrección, Assassin’s Creed, and Iron Man 2 now run more smoothly, with fewer freezes during loading. Shader compilation has been optimized to run on energy-efficient processor cores, reducing the load during gameplay.

Version 0.9.4 also addresses freezes during gameplay and introduces graphics pipeline caching to improve performance. This should significantly reduce delays associated with shader compilation after the initial launch of the emulator.

For those interested in trying out the latest version of ARMSX3, it is available for free download on GitHub. With each update, the emulator continues to evolve and provide users with a more seamless gaming experience on their Android devices.
