Notebooks in Gemini arrive for Google Workspace and Education accounts

In a notable development for users of Google Workspace, the company has officially rolled out the “Notebooks in Gemini” feature to business and education accounts. This expansion follows the successful integration of the feature for regular Google users, which began in April. Now, students, educators, and enterprise professionals can harness the power of Gemini to streamline their note-taking and resource organization.

Enhanced Functionality for Workspace Users

Previously known as NotebookLM, the Gemini Notebook has undergone a transformation, now seamlessly integrated into the main Gemini interface. This allows users to create interactive learning materials, reports, and slide decks by organizing notes and resources gathered from the internet. The transition to Gemini has simplified the process, reducing the number of steps required to access these tools.

For Workspace administrators, the feature is enabled by default across all accounts. However, they retain the ability to control access, ensuring that only designated users can utilize the Notebooks in Gemini. To activate this feature, both Gemini and Gemini Notebook must be enabled at the organizational level.

It is important to note that users located in the European Economic Area (EEA) will not have access to this feature due to existing regional restrictions on artificial intelligence applications. As Google continues to innovate within its Workspace offerings, the introduction of Notebooks in Gemini marks a significant step towards enhancing productivity and collaboration in educational and professional settings.
