Voxel-Themed Puzzler Namco Legendary Mountains Arrives On iOS and Android Today

BeXide Releases Namco Legendary Mountains on iOS and Android

Japanese developer BeXide has announced the launch of its Voxel-based puzzler, Namco Legendary Mountains, on iOS and Android today. The game, which was previously released on PC and Nintendo Switch in June, offers players a colorful and challenging experience.

In Namco Legendary Mountains, players are tasked with filling a shallow bowl with “capsule” spheres, each containing a voxel model of an iconic character from Namco’s classic coin-op era. The goal is to match up characters to create chains, while managing the ever-growing stack to prevent it from spilling over the bowl’s edge.

The game is reminiscent of typical tile puzzles but with added elements of balance and inertia, making it a unique and engaging experience for players. The trailer for the game showcases the concept in action, providing a visual demonstration of the gameplay.

Namco Legendary Mountains draws inspiration from BeXide’s previous puzzler, Suika, but with a twist. Instead of strawberries and watermelons, players will interact with voxel models of characters from classic Namco titles such as Dig Dug, Mappy, Xevious, The Tower of Druaga, and Pac-Man. Completing in-game challenges will unlock 3D models of these characters for players to enjoy in their own digital dioramas.

While the digital voxel models are charming and appealing, some players may wish for real-world versions of their favorite characters. The Dig Dug set and the Pac-Man cast are particularly popular choices, with the hope that these may become available in the future.

Namco Legendary Mountains is now available on iOS and Android, joining the existing versions on PC and Nintendo Switch for players to enjoy.
