Konami Celebrates Castlevania’s 40th Anniversary
Konami is marking the 40th anniversary of the iconic Castlevania series with a special treat for fans. The company has released Castlevania: 40th Anniversary as a free download on both iOS and Android platforms. However, this giveaway will only last until October 24, 2026, so fans are encouraged to act quickly.
The game is a port of the original Castlevania title that was first released for the Famicom console. Players will once again step into the shoes of the legendary vampire hunter, Simon Belmont, as they navigate through Dracula’s castle and battle its monstrous inhabitants using his trusty whip.
The mobile version of the game features touch controls with on-screen buttons, allowing for a more intuitive gameplay experience. Players also have the ability to save their progress at any time, similar to using emulators. However, despite these modern updates, full controller support has not been included, leading to some user complaints in the game reviews.
Unfortunately, Russian users have encountered an additional hurdle as Castlevania: 40th Anniversary is not available in the Russian segments of Google Play and the App Store. To access the game, users will need to create an account from a different region in order to add it to their library.
