Battlefield 6’s PC Sales “Among the Best Seen For a Premium Game” in the US

Battlefield 6 has emerged as a remarkable success story in the gaming industry, achieving over seven million copies sold within just three days of its release. A significant contributor to this impressive figure appears to be the PC version, as highlighted by Circana’s Mat Piscatella. In a conversation with Chris Dring of The Game Business, Piscatella noted that while the research company is withholding specific sales figures for now, the engagement metrics on PC have been particularly noteworthy.

PC Performance and Engagement

Piscatella expressed his admiration for the game’s performance on PC, stating, “In terms of the user numbers, it is doing incredibly well. It’s amongst the best we’ve ever seen for a premium game on PC.” The data from Steam supports this assertion, showcasing nearly 750,000 peak concurrent players at launch, despite facing some server challenges. This figure does not even account for those accessing the game through the EA App, indicating an even broader reach.

However, the console performance presents a more nuanced picture. While Battlefield 6 has secured a spot in the Top 15 and even the Top 10 in the United States, Piscatella observed that the console audience has not embraced the game to the extent he initially anticipated. “In the US, that PC audience is where Battlefield has really hit,” he remarked, acknowledging that while the console sales have been solid, they fall short of expectations.

Sales Breakdown

According to Alinea Analytics, Steam accounted for a substantial 56.7 percent of sales, translating to more than 3.5 million units sold and generating over 0 million in revenue. Following closely behind, the PS5 version contributed 23.7 percent with over 1.5 million sales. These figures are particularly impressive considering that total sales were estimated to exceed 6.5 million in the first week alone.

As Battlefield 6 gears up for its first season, set to launch on October 28th, the momentum appears to be firmly in EA’s favor. Enthusiasts can look forward to a roadmap detailing the upcoming changes to movement and balance, promising an engaging experience for players across platforms.
