Feed the Deep, the Lovecraftian roguelike from the Fruit Ninja Designer, is coming to Android and Xbox in 2027

Feed the Deep, the Lovecraftian roguelike was originally released on PC in August 2024 before arriving on iOS in June 2025.

Designed almost entirely by Luke Muscat, the game features procedurally generated caves, underwater exploration, resource collection, and survival mechanics.

Luke Muscat, the designer behind popular mobile games Fruit Ninja and Jetpack Joyride, has announced that his Lovecraftian roguelike title, Feed the Deep, will launch on Android and Xbox in 2027. Originally released on PC in August 2024 before making its way to iOS in June 2025.

Get ready to enjoy procedurally generated underwater exploration

Inspired by games like Dome Keeper and Spelunky, Feed the Deep blends roguelike mechanics with deep-sea exploration. You must navigate a network of underwater caves, gather resources, and trade them for upgrades and useful items. Exploring further into the darkness comes with its own risks, as limited oxygen and hostile wildlife make every expedition a challenge.

You can explore at your own pace, either moving quickly through dangerous areas or taking a slower approach and leaving markers to find your way back. Its eerie Lovecraftian atmosphere is also supported by a soundtrack composed by Cedar Jones, known for his work on Jetpack Joyride and other games.

The game also has an interesting development story. I mean, Muscat created the game almost entirely on his own as a personal challenge to see if he could develop a complete game solo. Overall, the game looks fun thanks to the procedurally generated caves, atmospheric deep-sea adventure, and more.

Feed the Deep will launch to Android and Xbox in 2027. The game is already on iOS, and you can download it via the App Store.
