Forget streaming; this upcoming Android wants to full-on emulate your favorite PC games

The anticipation surrounding the launch of the REDMAGIC 10S Pro is palpable, as the gaming smartphone is poised to elevate mobile gaming to new heights. Set to debut on Monday, this innovative device will introduce a built-in PC emulator, a feature that has gamers buzzing with excitement. The announcement was made via a post on Weibo, where the company shared a captivating image of the phone alongside a mock-up showcasing gameplay with external controllers. The message was clear: users will soon have the ability to “play PC games anytime, anywhere.”

Enhanced Gaming Experience

This latest iteration in the REDMAGIC series promises to deliver a seamless gaming experience, allowing users to enjoy full desktop titles without the need for cloud streaming or additional hardware. While specific details on the emulator’s functionality remain under wraps, early insights from a page on NubiaMart hint at compatibility with popular titles such as Wuthering Waves, Blade & Soul 2, Arena Breakout, and Delta Force: Hawk Ops, all potentially running at an impressive 144Hz.

The introduction of native PC gaming capabilities on Android devices is not entirely new; however, REDMAGIC appears ready to bring a tangible solution to the market. Earlier this year, Xiaomi showcased a system that enabled Steam games to run on an Android tablet using its WinPlay technology, although that initiative was still in its testing phase. In contrast, REDMAGIC seems to be on the verge of delivering a fully realized product.

Beyond its groundbreaking emulator, the REDMAGIC 10S Pro is expected to be a powerhouse in terms of specifications. According to NubiaMart, the device will feature an overclocked Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip, complemented by REDMAGIC’s custom R3 Pro gaming co-processor. The smartphone will also boast a formidable 7,500mAh battery, equipped with 120W fast charging capabilities. Additionally, the cooling system has received significant enhancements, incorporating direct-contact CPU cooling and bypass charging support to ensure optimal performance during intense gaming sessions.

The official unveiling of the REDMAGIC 10S Pro is scheduled for May 26 at 3 PM local time in China, with details regarding international availability yet to be disclosed. As the launch date approaches, the gaming community eagerly awaits what this innovative device will bring to the table.
