NVIDIA has made a significant update to its cloud streaming platform, GeForce NOW, by adding 11 new PC games this week, with standout titles such as Hunt: Showdown 1896 and Forever Skies taking center stage.
Highlights of the New Additions
Hunt: Showdown 1896, developed by Crytek, is a horror-themed extraction shooter that has garnered a loyal following since its initial release in 2019. Following a relaunch in August 2024, the game has been enhanced with updates to the CryEngine, now offering features like NVIDIA DLSS Super Resolution for premium subscribers, DirectX 12 support, HDR display compatibility, and multi-bounce global illumination. Despite a challenging year for Crytek, which saw a 15% reduction in its workforce and a pause in the development of a new Crysis title, Hunt: Showdown 1896 continues to thrive, with a new DLC titled Last of the Herd on the horizon. This expansion will introduce the Plains Warden playable character and a new weapon, the Herd Thinner.
On the other hand, Forever Skies, a first-person sci-fi survival game from Far From Home, has officially launched its version 1.0 after nearly two years in early access. This update brings a wealth of new content, including the final chapter of the game’s narrative, fresh biomes and points of interest, colossal creatures to encounter, and a variety of collectibles such as artifacts and murals. Players can also look forward to new tools, resources, crafting recipes, and quality-of-life improvements, alongside enhanced performance featuring NVIDIA DLSS Frame Generation for Ultimate tier subscribers.
