In a long-awaited update for Lethal Company, Zeekerss has unveiled a substantial new content release, version 70, which is now available for players. This update introduces a revamped mansion, enhanced features, and a thrilling new monster that promises to elevate the gaming experience.
Exciting Enhancements and Features
While the pace of updates for Lethal Company had slowed recently, with Zeekerss focusing on a separate project and facing some creative hurdles, inspiration struck after an immersive 50-hour playthrough of REPO. The result is a fresh wave of content that, while perhaps not as groundbreaking as the previous v50 update, brings a host of new elements that players are sure to appreciate.
According to a recent blog post from Zeekerss, “The Company has a new update for all you hard workers.” This update includes:
- Five new furniture items: a fridge, doghouse, sofa chair, microwave, and electric chair.
- A new log from Sigurd titled “Team Synergy.”
- A new plan for logs, allowing players to discover and collect them as rare scrap within the map interiors.
- Enhancements to the Company Cruiser, including reinforced materials for better durability, a self-correcting feature to help it right itself, and a slight speed boost when accelerating after shifting gears.
While these additions focus on quality-of-life improvements, the real excitement lies in the significant upgrades to the radar system. The radar has been completely redesigned, now featuring:
- A face cam to view your coworker’s expressions on the terminal.
- A new compass HUD.
- A path indicator leading to the nearest exit.
- Contour lines to illustrate outdoor terrain.
Zeekerss notes that these enhancements aim to align the radar’s visual standards with the rest of the game, making it easier for players to navigate as the designated computer operator.
Revamped Mansion and New Exploration Opportunities
The mansion itself has undergone a significant transformation, now featuring eight new rooms and hallways filled with interactable objects that can conceal scrap. Additional cabinets and rooms with lower ceilings have also been added. Zeekerss states, “Now the Mansion should be more interesting to explore, and has more opportunities to loop back in on itself and create non-linear layouts.” This overhaul of the mansion’s layout logic is particularly noteworthy, addressing previous navigation challenges exacerbated by dead ends.
As a fan of co-op horror games, the continued development of Lethal Company is a welcome sight. Zeekerss has clearly put thought into these updates, aiming to refine existing features rather than simply adding content for the sake of it. Among the most anticipated additions is the new monster—the Giant Sapsucker. This creature, primarily found outdoors during the day in Vow, is sure to introduce an additional layer of chaos to gameplay, enhancing the thrill of each run.
