Microsoft rolls out Edge Game Assist

In a notable development for gamers, Microsoft has unveiled a new feature for its Edge browser, aptly named Game Assist. This innovative tool, currently available in a preview version, is designed to enhance the gaming experience by providing an in-game browser that offers timely tips and tricks tailored to users’ needs. Accessible through the Game Bar, Game Assist aims to streamline the process of seeking assistance while immersed in gameplay.

Enhancing the Gaming Experience

Microsoft’s research reveals that a significant 88 percent of PC gamers frequently switch out of their games to search for tips on their web browsers. The company noted, “Based on our research, 40 percent of PC players look up tips, guides, and other help while they play.” With Game Assist, Microsoft seeks to alleviate this disruption, making it easier than ever for players to find helpful resources without leaving their gaming environment.

When a user opens a new tab, Game Assist highlights relevant resources for their current game, ensuring that assistance is just a click away. The initial preview is localized in English and supports a selection of popular PC games, with the aim of refining the experience based on user feedback.
