Minecraft 26.2 Snapshot 3

In the latest update for version 26.2, we are excited to introduce a new feature that promises to add a vibrant flair to your builds: sulfur spikes. These striking blocks emerge naturally within sulfur caves, offering a unique aesthetic with their colorful, pointy formations. However, a word of caution—these spikes can be quite dangerous if they fall, as they are sharp and can cause injury.

New Features

Sulfur Spike

  • A new block that generates naturally on sulfur blocks within the sulfur caves biome.
  • When placed on the ceiling, it forms a stalactite; when placed on the floor, it becomes a stalagmite.
  • Multiple sulfur spikes can be combined to create longer stalactites and stalagmites.
  • If the tips of stalactites and stalagmites are adjacent, they will merge unless the shift key is pressed while placing.
  • Stalagmites will break if they are not anchored to something below.
  • Stalactites will fall if they lack support from above.
  • Be mindful—being struck by a falling stalactite can be painful!
  • Thrown tridents can break sulfur spikes.

Block Entity Data

  • The <span class="MCEffectTextHighlightA”>minecraft:bed block entity has been removed.

Predicates

Entity Predicates

The format for entity predicates has transitioned from a structure with multiple optional fields to a more streamlined component-like sub-predicate entry. For instance, the previous optional field for <span class="MCEffectTextHighlightA”>effects has been restructured:

{
    "minecraft:effects": {...}
}

Key changes include:

  • All keys in entity predicates are now identifiers, allowing for simplified writing without namespace (defaulting to <span class="MCEffectTextHighlightA”>minecraft namespace).
  • The field <span class="MCEffectTextHighlightA”>type has been renamed to <span class="MCEffectTextHighlightA”>minecraft:entity_type.

Resource Pack Version 86.0
