One Championship, a well-known mixed martial arts league, has introduced a new mobile game for iOS and Android that incorporates puzzle and fighting elements. The game, named One Fight Arena, is free to play and was created in partnership with Notre Game, a subsidiary of Animoca Brands, a leading investor in the blockchain industry.
Players can control a roster of One Championship fighters, including popular champions like Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson and Rodtang “The Iron Man” Jitmuangnon, guiding them from their early careers to championship victories. The gameplay involves a mix of match-3 puzzles and player-versus-player combat in short matches.
Through competitions and quests, players can earn “Adrenaline,” the in-game currency, which can be exchanged for rewards such as One gift cards, merchandise, VIP tickets, and even SUI crypto tokens. The game also offers the option to upgrade in-game athletes to tradeable NFTs, providing players with ownership rights and additional earning possibilities within the game ecosystem.
While the game integrates blockchain features through the Sui blockchain, players can choose to enjoy One Fight Arena without engaging with the blockchain aspects. The game was initially announced in April 2023 for a planned release in 2024. In September, Sui became the official blockchain sponsor of One Championship, with intentions to utilize the chain for the mobile game.
