Garena Announces Palworld Online, an MMORPG Spin-off for Android and iOS
Garena has announced that Palworld is getting an MMORPG spin-off called Palworld Online coming to Android and iOS. Developed by Pocketpair under license with Garena, Palworld Online will offer players creature-collecting, survival game elements of Palworld on mobile devices with an added MMO element, creating an online world for players to explore with others. The game is set to release later this year in 2026.
Palworld Online will focus more on multiplayer elements than the original game did. Players will be able to explore the open world while encountering other players to tackle quests, participate in harder challenges, and more together. Groups of players will be encouraged to complete missions and explore regions that are connected to each other with secrets, increased difficulty enemies, and more lore to discover.
Taking care of Pals will still be a huge element of Palworld Online. As players catch their pals, they can assist with exploring new regions of the map. Side stories will also be available in Palworld Online that are exclusive to the mobile game’s story.
Players will be able to craft and create settlements that can expand into full-blown bases with other players. Elements of automation from the original are coming to Palworld Online, allowing players to set their pals to work gathering resources, crafting items, and building structures while the trainers are busy battling, exploring, or grinding out quests.
While the game is centered around cooperative gameplay, there will be PvP elements in Palworld Online. Garena is partnering with Pocketpair to adapt the original Palworld gameplay for mobile devices with optimized controls. Players will be able to fight other players with their own teams of pals competing against each other.
“We are working closely with Pocketpair to ensure Palworld Online captures the freedom and depth of gameplay that players loved in the original while optimizing controls and game systems for mobile play,” Garena says in a statement.
Garena looks to leverage Pocketpair’s IP with their expertise in mobile game development, global publishing, and localizations. Palworld originally launched into Early Access back in March and just exited it earlier this month.
