Red Dead Redemption is one of several huge hits from Rockstar Games, and now even more gamers will get a chance to play it as it’s being released onto Android and iOS as a freebie through Netflix. Mobile games on Netflix continue to expand with newer releases every so often, and although they don’t all stick around forever, they’re usually available through Netflix for quite some time.
This was the case with other titles from Rockstar Games, specifically in the GTA franchise. At one point, GTA 3, GTA Vice City, and GTA San Andreas were all available as Netflix offerings. Red Dead Redemption has similar gameplay as it’s a sprawling open-world game, but a very different theme and story, obviously. Rockstar Games officially announced that it would be bringing Red Dead Redemption to more platforms this year. Confirming it was going to be released for PC alongside the game’s DLC.
Red Dead Redemption on Android will come with the DLC
Just like the PC version, Red Dead Redemption on Android (and iOS, for that matter) will have the Undead Nightmare DLC. This will be playable content that you don’t have to pay extra money for, which makes this game on mobile quite the bargain.
As with other Netflix games, you will need a Netflix membership to play this one. That being said, any paid Netflix membership should suffice. So, you won’t necessarily have to subscribe to the most expensive plan. The game supports touch controls and Rockstar even confirms that it has mobile-friendly control options. However, it should also work with controllers. That will likely allow you to use any mobile controller you have, as well as full-size controllers like the DualSense and Xbox controllers.
If you don’t subscribe to Netflix, you can still play this game on your mobile device. It’s available outside of the Netflix membership as a .99 purchase. So, you can buy the game if you wish. That being said, if you already subscribe to Netflix, you might as well play it that way.
