Gaming phones have evolved significantly over the years, consistently pushing the boundaries of technology to enhance the mobile gaming experience. The latest entrant, the REDMAGIC 10S Pro, is making waves by introducing a pre-installed “PC emulator,” allowing users to play select Windows games directly on their smartphones. This innovation marks a notable shift in the gaming phone landscape, as traditionally, such emulators required users to undertake the cumbersome process of installation and configuration.
Specifications and Features
Currently available in China for 4,999 CNY (approximately 4), the REDMAGIC 10S Pro is set to launch globally on June 5, 2025. While details regarding the emulator’s game compatibility and performance remain sparse, it’s essential to recognize that the efficiency of a PC emulator is heavily reliant on the underlying hardware. Despite being a smartphone, the REDMAGIC 10S Pro boasts impressive specifications.
At its core, the device is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Leading Edition processor, an upgraded variant of Qualcomm’s flagship chip, capable of reaching speeds up to 4.47 GHz. Complementing this is the RedCore R3 Pro chip, which enhances haptic feedback, touch sampling rates, and audio quality. The phone also features an advanced “ICE-X” cooling system that integrates liquid metal, a fan, and liquid cooling technology, ensuring optimal performance during intense gaming sessions. Additionally, the aesthetic appeal is heightened with RGB lighting illuminating both the fan and back panel.
The REDMAGIC 10S Pro is available in various configurations, offering options from 12GB of LPDDR5 memory with 256GB of UFS 4.1 storage to a robust 24GB of RAM paired with 1TB of storage. Its display is equally impressive, featuring a 6.85-inch screen with a resolution of 2688 x 1216 pixels, an adaptive refresh rate of 44 Hz, and peak brightness reaching up to 2,000 nits. The device is powered by a substantial 7500 mAh battery, supporting rapid charging at up to 120W, along with stereo speakers and a USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C port.
For gamers, the phone includes specialized features such as a 2500 Hz touch sampling rate and responsive shoulder triggers with a polling rate of 520 Hz. On the photography front, the device is equipped with dual 50MP rear cameras—one for standard shots and another for ultra-wide angles—alongside a 16MP under-display front camera for selfies.
It’s worth noting that there are two nearly identical versions of the REDMAGIC 10S Pro. The standard model comes in configurations of 12GB/256GB or 16GB/512GB and supports 80W fast charging. In contrast, the REDMAGIC 10S Pro+ offers 120W charging capabilities and is available in 16GB/512GB or 24GB/1TB variants, with subtle differences in the rear panel design. Both models maintain the same dimensions of 163.4 x 76.1 x 8.9mm and a weight of 229 grams, making them sleek and portable for gaming on the go.
