Report: Battlefield 6 has already sold over 6.5m copies

In a remarkable debut, EA’s latest shooter, Battlefield 6, has surpassed 6.5 million copies sold within just a few days of its release, as reported by Alinea Analytics. This impressive figure translates to over 0 million in gross revenue, positioning Battlefield 6 as one of the standout titles of this gaming generation.

Sales Breakdown

Analyzing the sales distribution, it becomes clear that Steam has emerged as the dominant platform for Battlefield 6, accounting for approximately 56.7% of total sales—equating to around 3.5 million copies and generating more than 0 million in revenue. The PlayStation 5 contributed to 23.7% of sales, while Microsoft’s Xbox Series consoles captured the remaining 19.6%.

Rhys Elliott from Alinea noted, “Steam was always going to be the main driver of Battlefield’s success. As we covered last week, Steam pre-orders alone surpassed 1.8 million units, with over 3.5 million wishlists ahead of launch. But the engagement curve post-release is just as impressive.”

User Engagement

The game’s daily active users (DAUs) have remained consistently high, fluctuating between 2.3 million and 2.5 million since launch. In contrast, PlayStation DAUs have stabilized around the one million mark. Notably, Battlefield 6 has exhibited an unusually flat DAU curve for a shooter, a rarity in the premium gaming market. Furthermore, the game experienced minimal user drop-off on the following Monday, further highlighting its strong player retention.
