Ruckus Games lands $19m Series A funding round

US-based game developer Ruckus Games has successfully raised million in Series A funding, marking a significant milestone in its journey. The investment round was spearheaded by Krafton, a prominent Korean gaming firm, with additional contributions from Bitkraft Ventures, Transcend, and Hypergryph. This financial boost is earmarked for the development of Ruckus’s inaugural title, a cooperative shooter that promises to captivate players.

Founders with a Vision

Founded in 2021 by industry veterans from Gearbox and Riot Games, Ruckus Games is helmed by CEO Paul Sage, who is well-known for his role as the creative director on Borderlands 3. Sage expressed enthusiasm about the new partnerships, stating, “Having Krafton and Hypergryph join us is amazing. They bring not only a global reach, but as developers themselves, they bring a unique perspective to our team.”

A Bright Future for Co-op Gaming

Maria Park, Krafton’s corporate development chief, echoed this sentiment, highlighting the studio’s promising trajectory. “We believe in the future of co-op gaming,” she remarked. “The Ruckus team has demonstrated incredible progress with a small team in a short period of time. They’ve crafted something so on-trend, with stylish action and humour, that it not only entertains but also connects players in memorable ways – a vision that strongly resonates with Krafton.”

The infusion of capital and expertise from these industry leaders positions Ruckus Games to make a significant impact in the gaming landscape, as they prepare to unveil their first title to an eager audience.
