Sega has officially rolled out the Minecraft Pack for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, now available across all gaming platforms. This exciting update introduces a variety of new features that enhance the gameplay experience.
For those who have purchased the Digital Deluxe Edition, the new content is included automatically as part of the Season Pass, priced at .99. Alternatively, players can opt for the standalone Minecraft Pack for .99. Notably, even players without the Minecraft Pack can engage in online competitions against those who do, including racing on the newly introduced Minecraft World course featuring iconic Minecraft characters.
New Additions to the Game
The Minecraft Pack brings several engaging elements to Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, including:
- Playable characters: Steve, Alex, and a creeper
- A Minecart Vehicle
- Six unique decals for the Minecart Vehicle
- The Minecraft World Course
- Five original Minecraft music tracks
- New remixes of classic Minecraft music tracks
- Six distinct emotes for each character
About Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds
This dynamic racing game allows players to build and customize their vehicles, unlock gadgets, and deploy power-ups, whether playing solo or with friends. The game supports cross-platform matchmaking, enabling up to 12 racers to compete simultaneously, regardless of their chosen platform.
The character roster features a variety of beloved Sonic figures, with additional characters set to be introduced through free post-launch updates, including fan favorites like Joker, Kasuga Ichiban, and Hatsune Miku.
At launch, Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds offers several engaging modes, such as Grand Prix with multiple cups, World Match ranked online battles, customizable Friend Matches, Time Trials, and the party-centric Race Park. Local split-screen multiplayer accommodates up to four players, while full online matchmaking supports up to twelve. A new Rival System enhances the competitive atmosphere by assigning rivals who taunt each other during Grand Prix events.
The game is currently available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC via Steam, and Nintendo Switch. Additionally, a version for the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 is in development, with a digital release planned for the holiday season of 2025 and a physical release expected in early 2026.
