SteamDB Let’s You Filter Out Gen AI PC Games on Steam

SteamDB has introduced a new feature designed to enhance the gaming experience for users navigating the Steam storefront. This update allows gamers to filter out titles that incorporate generative AI (Gen AI) technology, providing a more tailored search experience.

How the Filter Works

To utilize this filtering option, users can navigate to the “Filter by User Tags” section during their search. By entering “AI” in the search bar, they can select the “AI content disclosed” tag, which will highlight games that feature Gen AI elements. Additionally, the announcement emphasized another user tag, “Profile Features Limited,” enabling users to exclude games with this notification from their search results.

As of now, over 4,900 items have been identified as containing “AI content disclosed.” Notable titles in this category include Call of Duty, The Finals, inZOI, Setallaris, The Outlast Trials, Liar’s Bar, My Summer Car, Inside the Backrooms, and Synduality: Echo of Ada. For instance, the disclosure on the Synduality page specifies that the game features “garage radio chatter voice” generated through “AI-generated text to speech.”

Application to Steam Next Fest 2025

This filtering capability extends to demos showcased during Steam Next Fest 2025. Users can apply the same filter to opt out of viewing games that utilize Gen AI. A prime example is the Mecha Break demo, which employs the Nvidia ACE system for creating Gen AI NPCs.

The SteamDB Gen AI filter is now live, offering PC gamers an effective way to curate their gaming selections based on their preferences regarding AI technology.
