The Rise of the Golden Idol Returns to Mobile Devices
Another project from the removed Netflix Games catalog has made a comeback on mobile devices as a standalone release. The Rise of the Golden Idol, a sequel to The Case of the Golden Idol, was initially part of the Netflix Games subscription but was later removed in June 2025.
The game, set in the 1970s, follows players as they investigate 20 mysterious cases involving murders, cults, scientific experiments, parapsychology, and large corporations. Each scene requires careful examination of clues to uncover the motives of those involved.
Publisher Playstack has re-released The Rise of the Golden Idol on iOS and Android for 329 rubles. The mobile version is now available for purchase on the App Store and Google Play, allowing players to dive back into the captivating world of the Golden Idol.
The developers at Color Gray Games have ensured that the mobile edition mirrors the PC and console versions. However, players who previously owned the game through Netflix will need to repurchase it. Due to privacy restrictions, save transfers are not guaranteed, so most players may need to restart their investigations from the beginning.
