Xbox tests letting you stream your own games on PC

In a significant move for gamers, Xbox is expanding its “stream your own game” feature to PC, allowing subscribers of Game Pass Ultimate to stream their owned titles directly from the Xbox PC app. This announcement, made on Tuesday, marks a notable enhancement in the gaming experience for users who prefer the versatility of PC gaming.

Previously, Xbox had enabled Game Pass Ultimate subscribers to stream games from their library to consoles such as the Xbox Series X | S and Xbox One. The extension of this capability to PCs means that players can now enjoy their favorite titles on a wider range of devices, including smartphones, tablets, and even Meta Quest headsets, all while maintaining the convenience of cloud gaming.

This new feature is particularly advantageous for gamers dealing with the ever-increasing file sizes of modern games. For instance, titles like Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 demand a staggering 128GB of free SSD space, making streaming a practical solution for conserving local storage. Currently, Xbox offers the ability to stream over 250 games from its library, with plans to incorporate more console-exclusive titles and Play Anywhere games in the near future.

As Xbox continues to innovate and expand its offerings, the gaming community can look forward to a more flexible and accessible gaming environment, enhancing the overall experience for both casual and dedicated players alike.
