Feature Availability
While Google updated its support documentation in September to indicate that call recording would be available for Pixel 6 and later devices, many users found the feature was not yet active. Recent confirmations show that call recording is now functional on devices such as the Pixel 10 Pro and 10 Pro Fold, following an update to the Phone by Google app. Reports suggest that the transition from version 195.0 to 200.0 of the public beta enabled the feature, although some users have noted its appearance in the stable version 198 as well.
To utilize call recording, users must ensure that the November Pixel Drop is installed. For instance, a Pixel 8 Pro without the latest system update did not display the feature until the update was applied, after which the call recording option became visible in the Phone app.
Enabling Call Recording
For those with compatible Pixel devices, activating call recording is straightforward. Users can navigate to Settings > Call Assist > Call Recording within the Phone app. The feature allows for various recording options, including:
