Keeper Security Enhances WearOS App and Android Offline Mode

Keeper Security, a frontrunner in the realm of cybersecurity, has recently introduced significant enhancements to its Keeper WearOS app, which complements its flagship password management solution. This update is designed to elevate both security and user experience for smartwatch enthusiasts.

Enhanced User Experience

The revamped app aligns with Google’s latest Android guidelines, ensuring a more intuitive and streamlined experience for users of Android WearOS. Formerly known as KeeperDNA, the app has been rebranded to reflect a cohesive access experience across various platforms. With this redesign, users can now securely view their stored credentials and utilize their smartwatches for Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) with greater ease.

Among the key features retained in this update are the Time-Based One-Time Password (TOTP) code viewing and Watch Favorites, which allow users to quickly access frequently used logins without needing to reach for their phones. The modernized interface and enhanced functionality promise to significantly elevate the overall user experience.

Offline Functionality Improvements

In addition to the WearOS app enhancements, Keeper has also upgraded its Android app’s offline capabilities. Users can now securely access their Keeper data even without an internet connection, adding a layer of convenience for those on the move while ensuring the security of sensitive information.

  • Redesigned Interface: The app features a fresh, modern user interface that improves usability and navigation, complete with a rotating carousel on the vault page showcasing dynamic content and key security insights at a glance.
  • Instant Access to Credentials and 2FA Codes: Users can retrieve passwords and authentication codes with a simple tap, streamlining the login process.
  • Watch Favorites: This feature allows for quick access to the most-used logins directly from the wrist.

Streamlined Account Management

The release also introduces a simplified account setup process, making it easier for users to create an account and import passwords in just a few steps. The enhanced offline mode now offers improved controls, allowing users to configure vault access for one, seven, or 30 days, thus providing flexibility for travel and remote work. Additionally, enterprise users will receive explicit alerts when offline access is restricted based on company policies.

  • Decoupled Offline Mode and 2FA: Users can now manage offline access and 2FA settings separately, granting them greater control over their security preferences.

The Keeper WearOS app marks the initial phase of ongoing enhancements to Keeper’s wearable solutions, with future updates planned to include passkey support and standalone functionality for managing security directly from wearable devices.

The updated Keeper WearOS app is now available on the Google Play Store, empowering users to maintain control over their credentials from their wrist, all while being backed by Keeper’s zero-knowledge encryption and adherence to industry-leading security standards.
