Ultrahuman’s new ‘Emerald’ update is a massive overhaul of how the app works

Ultrahuman, renowned for its innovative fitness tracking solutions, has unveiled a significant update to its companion app, aptly named the “Emerald” update. This latest iteration brings a fresh design and a suite of new features aimed at enhancing the user experience for those utilizing the Ultrahuman Ring PRO and other devices.

At the heart of this update lies the “UltraSphere,” a cutting-edge decision-making engine that resides on the home screen of the app. This intelligent feature is designed to provide users with tailored “Next Best Actions,” taking into account various factors such as location, current weather conditions, and individual circadian rhythms. For instance, it might suggest stepping outside for some natural light, moderating caffeine intake, or winding down for the evening.

To further personalize these recommendations, the UltraSphere leverages a range of health metrics, including heart rate variability, skin temperature, and movement patterns. For users equipped with the Ultrahuman M1 or M2 Live, the app can also incorporate blood glucose levels into its suggestions, creating a comprehensive health management tool.

Better health insights

The Emerald update also enhances the delivery of health insights, introducing several new tabs that consolidate important data. The “Sleep Screener” compiles relevant sleep information, including AFib detection and a smart alarm, into a single, easy-to-navigate view. Meanwhile, the “Longevity Tab” aggregates various health markers that contribute to lifespan, allowing users to monitor their well-being more effectively. Additionally, the “Windows” feature provides insights into time-sensitive data, illustrating how factors like circadian phases, caffeine windows, and Vitamin D levels fluctuate throughout the day.

Moreover, Ultrahuman has improved workout tracking capabilities with enhanced automatic workout detection and refined heart rate algorithms, resulting in a 21% increase in the accuracy of VO2 Max data. Users can now also connect third-party devices, such as the Apple Watch, Garmin wearables, WHOOP, and AirPods Gen 3, to track selected workouts seamlessly.

In a notable shift, all health data processing is now conducted on-device, ensuring that users can access their health insights and data at any time, regardless of network connectivity. The Emerald update is currently being rolled out globally, available for download from both the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store, marking a significant step forward in Ultrahuman’s commitment to empowering users in their health and fitness journeys.
