As Microsoft gears up to discontinue support for Windows 10 in less than a year, many users express their reluctance to transition to Windows 11. Despite the company’s persistent efforts, including full-screen multi-page advertisements, a public interest group has stepped in with a petition urging Microsoft to reconsider its decision. They cite concerns over what they describe as “the single biggest jump in junked computers ever,” which could hinder the company’s sustainability objectives.
In response, Microsoft has offered an option for both commercial and consumer users to extend support for Windows 10 for an additional three years beyond the official cutoff date of October 14, 2025. However, purchasing a new Windows 11 device or upgrading to the latest operating system appears to be a more practical solution. The stringent system requirements and certain design flaws in Windows 11 remain significant barriers for many users contemplating the switch.

Fortunately, there may be a solution to the design challenges faced by Windows 11 users. A new mod, known as the Seelen UI utility, allows for customization of various user interface elements within the operating system. This includes the much-anticipated floating Taskbar, previously seen in a Windows 12 leak, as reported by Neowin. According to TechRadar, the Seelen UI Utility requires Microsoft Edge to be installed on the PC, and it will also install the WebView runtime on Windows 10 devices.
