Hello Windows Insiders. Today marks the release of Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 26200.5733 (KB5062673) to the Dev Channel. This update introduces a range of new features, improvements, and fixes, which are being gradually rolled out for those who have opted in to receive the latest updates through the Settings menu.
Changes and Improvements Gradually Being Rolled Out to the Dev Channel with Toggle On*
[File Explorer]
- For Insiders using a work or school account (Entra ID), File Explorer will now display people icons under the “Activity” column on the File Explorer Home page, as well as in the “Recommended” section. Hovering over or clicking these icons will reveal the Live Persona Card for that individual from Microsoft 365.
[Settings]
- The option to “Manage or clear your Bing search history” has been removed from Settings > Privacy & security > Search under Search history. Users can now manage their Bing search history directly through the Privacy dashboard, accessible via the Privacy resources link on that settings page.
Fixes Gradually Being Rolled Out to the Dev Channel with Toggle On*
[Start Menu]
- An issue causing the updated Start menu to crash for some Insiders has been resolved.
[Taskbar & System Tray]
- A fix has been implemented for a problem where clicking and sliding the mouse on the taskbar preview thumbnail would render it unresponsive.
[Lock Screen]
- A crash that prevented widgets from displaying on the lock screen has been addressed, allowing users to add new widgets once again.
[Input]
- Multi-finger touchpad gestures that were not functioning in the previous flight have been fixed.
Known Issues
[General]
- Some Windows Insiders may encounter a rollback when attempting to install this update, indicated by a 0x80070005 error in Windows Update. A solution is in progress, and impacted users may find relief by navigating to Settings > System > Recovery > “Fix issues using Windows update.”
- [NEW] We are addressing an underlying issue with dao360.dll that is causing some applications to crash following the previous flight.
[Start Menu]
- [NEW] Insiders with the new Start menu may notice a category generated for each letter of the alphabet containing blank icons in the “All” section after updating. Switching views and returning should resolve this anomaly.
[Taskbar & System Tray]
- We are currently investigating reports that all apps pinned to the taskbar have been unpinned for some Insiders after updating to Build 26200.5722 and higher.
[File Explorer]
- [NEW] In dark mode, the red indicator for low storage drives in This PC may appear unexpectedly light. Other colors may also be inaccurately displayed, such as black being used for remaining space instead of a more visible hue.
[Click to Do (Preview)]
The following known issues will be addressed in future updates:
- Windows Insiders using AMD or Intel®-powered Copilot+ PCs may experience delays when first attempting intelligent text actions in Click to Do after a new build or model update.
[Live Captions]
- Live captions may crash when attempting to utilize live translation on a Copilot+ PC.
[Xbox Controllers]
- Some Insiders are facing an issue where connecting their Xbox Controller via Bluetooth leads to a bugcheck on their PC. To resolve this, users should open Device Manager, find the driver named “oemXXX.inf (XboxGameControllerDriver.inf),” right-click on it, and select “Uninstall.”
Reminders for Windows Insiders in the Dev Channel
- Windows Insiders in the Dev Channel receive updates based on Windows 11, version 25H2 through an enablement package (Build 26200.xxxx). For further details on Windows 11, version 25H2, please refer to our blog post.
- Many features in the Dev Channel are rolled out using Control Feature Rollout technology, initially targeting a subset of Insiders and gradually expanding as feedback is monitored.
- To be among the first to receive features gradually rolled out to you, ensure the toggle for latest updates is turned ON via Settings > Windows Update. If the toggle is off, new features will be rolled out to your PC over time as they become ready.
- Be aware that features and experiences included in these builds may not be released beyond Windows Insiders, as we explore various concepts and gather feedback. Changes may occur over time, including removals or replacements.
- Some features currently in development may not be fully localized; localization will occur as features are finalized. Please report any localization issues via the Feedback Hub.
- Note that certain accessibility features may not function correctly with features like Recall and Click to Do while in preview.
- As the Dev and Beta Channels follow parallel development paths, some features may appear in the Beta Channel before the Dev Channel.
- For a comprehensive overview of which build is in which Insider channel, please visit Flight Hub.
Thank you,
