Announcing Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 26220.6780 (Dev Channel)

Hello Windows Insiders, today we are releasing Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 26220.6780 (KB5067103) to the Dev Channel. Changes in Dev Channel builds and updates are documented in two categories: new features, improvements, and fixes that are gradually rolled out for Insiders who have activated the toggle to receive the latest updates as they become available (via Settings > Windows Update) and new features, improvements, and fixes rolling out to everyone in the Dev Channel. For more information, see the Reminders section at the bottom of this blog post.

New features gradually being rolled out to the Dev Channel with toggle on*

[Agent in Settings]

The following changes and improvements are rolling out for the agent in Settings on Copilot+ PCs:

  • Recommend Settings: This feature now allows for quicker adjustments by displaying an inline agent action for recently modified settings.
  • Search: The search functionality has been enhanced to show more available results, making it easier to discover and modify settings. When settings cannot be adjusted further, a dialog will inform you of the reason and provide options for modification.

[Drag Tray]

  • The Drag Tray now supports multi-file sharing, intelligently surfaces more relevant apps, and enables seamless file movement to a chosen folder.

Changes and Improvements gradually being rolled out to the Dev Channel with toggle on*

[Click to Do (Preview)]

The following changes and improvements are rolling out for Click to Do on Copilot+ PCs:

  • Visual cues now highlight key entities, such as emails and tables, when you launch Click to Do, allowing you to discover powerful actions that enhance your productivity.

[Administrator Protection]

  • The ability to enable Administrator Protection via Windows Security under Account protection is now available again.

[OneDrive]

  • The new OneDrive icon is being rolled out in Accounts and Homepages within Settings.

[Run]

  • Dark Mode: Improvements to the dark mode experience in Windows 11 continue with an update to the Run dialog. Please note that this change is on a very slow rollout, so not all Insiders will see it immediately.

Fixes gradually being rolled out to the Dev Channel with toggle on*

[Click to Do (Preview)]

The following fixes are rolling out for Click to Do on Copilot+ PCs:

  • Addressed an issue where launching Click to Do on the primary display via right-edge gesture would result in swipe visuals appearing on the incorrect display.

[Taskbar & System Tray]

  • Resolved an issue where pressing WIN + repeatedly did not cycle through the windows of an app as expected.

[File Explorer]

  • Fixed a recurring crash issue in File Explorer that affected some Insiders in the previous flight.

[Start menu]

  • Corrected an issue causing the Start menu to unexpectedly scroll to the top during interactions.
  • Fixed a problem where the context menu in Start would not open with touch input, resulting in immediate dismissal.

[Search]

  • Resolved an issue where searches displayed unexpected text instead of the anticipated results and images.

[Other]

  • If you experienced a high number of app crashes, including browsers, in the previous flight, that issue should now be resolved with this update.

Known issues

[Taskbar & System Tray]

  • New animations on taskbar previews are temporarily disabled due to interference with window sharing from previews. We will notify when they are reintroduced.

[File Explorer]

  • Copy progress may flash when clicking for more or fewer details in the dark mode version of the copy dialog.
  • Scrollbar and footer may appear missing, showing a white block instead when text is scaled in dark mode in the copy dialog.

[Xbox Controller]

  • Some Insiders are facing an issue where using an Xbox Controller via Bluetooth causes their PC to bugcheck. To resolve this, open Device Manager, find the driver named “oemXXX.inf (XboxGameControllerDriver.inf),” right-click, and select “Uninstall.”

Reminders for Windows Insiders in the Dev Channel

  • Windows Insiders in the Dev Channel receive updates based on Windows 11, version 25H2 via an enablement package (Build 26220.xxxx).
  • Many features in the Dev Channel are rolled out using Controlled Feature Rollout technology, starting with a subset of Insiders and ramping up over time as feedback is monitored.
  • To be among the first to receive features gradually rolled out to you, activate the toggle to receive the latest updates via Settings > Windows Update. Features will be rolled out to everyone with the toggle turned on over time. If you keep this toggle off, new features will be gradually rolled out to your PC as they become ready.
  • Features and experiences included in these builds may never be released as we explore different concepts and gather feedback. Features may evolve, be removed, or replaced and may not be released beyond Windows Insiders. Some of these features could appear in future Windows releases when they are finalized.
  • Some features currently in development may not be fully localized; localization will occur over time as features are finalized. Please report any localization issues via the Feedback Hub.
  • Note that some accessibility features may not function with features like Recall and Click to Do while in preview with Windows Insiders.
  • As the Dev and Beta Channels represent parallel development paths, there may be instances where features and experiences appear in the Beta Channel first.
  • For a comprehensive view of which build is in which Insider channel, please refer to Flight Hub.

Thanks,
Amanda
