Hello Windows Insiders,
Enhancements in Microsoft Copilot for Windows
Microsoft is pleased to announce the rollout of a new update for the Copilot app on Windows, bringing a suite of enhancements designed to streamline user experience and improve productivity.
Connectors: The latest version of Copilot now allows users to connect with personal services such as OneDrive, Outlook (covering email, contacts, and calendar), Google Drive, Gmail, Google Calendar, and Google Contacts. This integration simplifies the process of locating content across various accounts.
In this initial rollout, users can leverage natural language search capabilities across all connected services. For instance, you can inquire:
- “What’s the email address for Sarah?”
- “Find my school notes from last week.”
Copilot will efficiently retrieve pertinent information from your linked accounts.
Both Microsoft and third-party accounts can be linked to Copilot, with this feature being opt-in. To enable connections, users can navigate to the Settings page within the Copilot Windows app, scroll to the Connectors section, and activate OneDrive, Outlook, Google Drive, Gmail, Google Calendar, or Google Contacts.
Document Creation and Export: The updated Copilot app also introduces the ability to create and export content in various file formats with ease. Users can generate Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, PDFs, PowerPoint presentations, and more directly from their Copilot session. Simply prompt Copilot with requests like, “Export this text to a Word document” or “Create an Excel file from this table,” and it will handle the task for you. This feature allows for the seamless transformation of ideas, notes, and data into shareable and editable documents without the need for additional steps or tools. Furthermore, for responses exceeding 600 characters, Copilot includes a default export button, enabling direct text transfer to Word, PowerPoint, Excel, or PDF.
This update (version 1.25095.161.0 and higher) is currently being rolled out across all Insider Channels via the Microsoft Store. As these features are gradually implemented, not all Insiders will receive the update simultaneously. We look forward to sharing these improvements with our Insiders to ensure an exceptional Copilot experience on Windows.
FEEDBACK: We encourage users to provide feedback directly within the Copilot app by clicking on your profile icon and selecting “Give feedback.”
Thank you,
The Microsoft Copilot Team
