The latest update for the Quick Share app on Windows, version 1.0.2002.2, has begun rolling out, following a previous update earlier this month. This new release focuses primarily on addressing a range of bugs rather than introducing new features or significant changes to the application.
Among the key issues resolved in this update are:
- Elimination of a crashing issue related to files containing non-ASCII characters.
- Resolution of a problem that prevented the app from saving settings upon closure.
- Fixing a crash that occurred during Bluetooth usage.
The comprehensive changelog highlights several additional fixes:
- Improved handling of files received from unknown senders with identical payload IDs.
- Resolved issues that hindered the opening of received files with non-ASCII characters.
- Corrected problems related to reading and saving user preferences on specific system configurations.
- Ensured the Quick Share shortcut icon appears in the Start menu post-installation.
- Addressed crashes when reading input files and connecting via Bluetooth.
- Fixed multiple GATT reads during device discovery and stopped Wi-Fi LAN advertising.
- Resolved issues with the Wi-Fi hotspot profile, including recovery during file transfers.
However, it is worth noting that the Quick Share app has yet to receive an update for Windows on Arm, which means it remains incompatible with laptops powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X chips.
