Microsoft has resumed its development efforts following the Thanksgiving break, unveiling a new preview build of Windows 11 for Canary users. The latest iteration, build 27758, introduces a range of enhancements across various components, including File Explorer, Taskbar, Task Manager, and more.

The official changelog details several key improvements:
[File Explorer]
- The search box in File Explorer has been adjusted to prevent it from extending beyond the window’s edge.
[Taskbar]
- A fix has been implemented to address an issue where right-clicking app icons in the taskbar could crash explorer.exe in previous builds.
[Input]
- An issue causing the mouse cursor to become invisible when hovering over text fields in certain applications has been resolved.
[Desktop]
- Improvements have been made to ensure that desktop backgrounds display correctly across multiple monitors, eliminating instances of large black areas.
[Task Manager]
- Work is underway to correct the alignment of the Mica background in Task Manager when resized while settings are open.
[Narrator]
- A crash issue affecting Narrator at launch when using natural voices, such as Jenny, has been addressed.
[Audio]
- Fixes have been applied to prevent USB audio devices from going to sleep after one minute of inactivity, requiring a reboot to wake up.
- Another fix addresses unexpected mute or unmute sounds in certain headsets.
[Settings]
- Settings crashing when selecting a default audio device has been rectified.
[Other]
- An issue causing an unexpected black line along the top border of windows has been resolved.

- IMPORTANT NOTE FOR COPILOT+ PCs: Users joining the Canary Channel from other channels may encounter issues with Windows Hello PIN and biometrics, resulting in error 0xd0000225. Recreating the PIN is possible through the “Set up my PIN” option.
- Reports of rollbacks (error code 0xc190010) during the installation of the latest Canary builds are under investigation.
- Microsoft is actively working on fixes for issues related to accent-colored window borders, shadows around windows, and animations that appear despite being disabled.
- A new bugcheck issue with error PAGEFAULTINNONPAGEDAREA has also been identified and is being addressed.
