Google’s Gemini, the innovative AI digital assistant, is poised for enhancements that promise to streamline user experience on Android devices. The latest updates suggest the introduction of a Tools icon within the Gemini overlay, enabling users to access advanced functionalities such as AI image generation, Veo videos, Deep Research, and Canvas with remarkable ease, all without the need to switch applications.
Tools button comes to the Gemini overlay
Currently, users can tap the Tools icon in the Gemini app to explore features like image and video generation. This new addition to the overlay will allow for quicker access to these tools, enhancing usability significantly. By simply tapping the Tools icon, users will see the specific tool’s icon appear in the input box, allowing them to proceed with text or voice commands seamlessly. This improvement is expected to boost the adoption of these tools, making them more accessible while users engage with other applications.
Gemini overlay could also get a Circle to Select button
In addition to the Tools icon, a potential Circle to Select feature may soon be integrated into the overlay. This functionality allows users to circle an area on their screen to capture that specific view, similar to the existing Circle to Search feature. While this option has been activated within the overlay, its full implementation in the Gemini app remains to be seen.
Tweaking generated image behavior within the Gemini app
Google is also refining the user interface for generated images within the Gemini app. The current design places the Sharing and Download icons at the top right of the image view. However, the upcoming update will relocate these options to the bottom, accompanied by a new Copy Image feature. This adjustment aims to enhance user convenience, particularly for those who prefer one-handed operation. Furthermore, the three-dot menu within the chat will also receive updates, adding Copy and Download options for generated image responses, thereby providing users with additional ways to interact with their content.
As these features are still in development, it is important to note that their availability in future releases may vary. The ongoing evolution of Gemini reflects Google’s commitment to enhancing user experience and accessibility in the realm of AI-driven assistance.
